Hidata matsutani11/3/2022 ![]() ![]() The concept of the ''double trigger" represents a combination of a GnRH agonist and a standard hCG, when used 40 and 34 h prior to ovum pick-up, respectively. The administration of a GnRH agonist and a standard hCG in normal responders, demonstrated significantly improved live-birth rates and a higher number of embryos of excellent quality, or cryopreserved embryos. ![]() The use of a GnRH agonist with a reduced dose of hCG in high responders demonstrated luteal phase support with improved pregnancy rates, similar to those after conventional hCG and a low risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). The concept being a ''dual trigger'' combines a single dose of the GnRH agonist with a reduced or standard dosage of hCG at the time of triggering. The aim of the review is to analyse the combination of a gonadotrophin releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist with a human chorionic gonadotrophin ( hCG) trigger, for final oocyte maturation in in vitro fertilisation (IVF) cycles. Kasum, Miro Kurdija, Kristijan OreÅ¡ković, Slavko ÄŒehić, Ermin PaviÄić-Baldani, Dinka Å krgatić, Lana ![]() This study demonstrates that higher plasma progesterone concentrations as early as days 4-6 after insemination have a positive effect on first insemination PR, but there was no beneficial effect of hCG treatment on these days in dairy heifers.Ĭombined ovulation triggering with GnRH agonist and hCG in IVF patients. Heifers inseminated with sexed (n=18) compared with conventional (n=333) semen had a decreased PR (33 per cent vs 57 per cent, OR=0.2, P=0.01). Numbers of corpora lutea increased with hCG, and was higher in hCG-200 (P 2 ng/ml) had a lower PR after treatment (51 per cent vs 64 per cent, OR=0.6, P=0.02). Additional hCG did not significantly improve numbers of gilts ovulating. Ovulation response was assessed by ovarian dissection or real-time ultrasonography. Seventy-one prepuberal gilts (105 ± 7.5 kg) were assigned to groups: i) eCG/hCG ( hCG-0 n = 25) ii) eCG/hCG followed by 100 IU of hCG at 24 h ( hCG-100 n = 24) iii) eCG/hCG followed by 200 IU hCG at 24 h ( hCG-200 n = 10) and iv) controls (CON n = 12). The objective of this study was to determine the effect of additional human chorionic gonadotrophin ( hCG) on the ovarian response of gilts previously treated with 200 IU hCG combined with 400 IU equine chorionic gonadotrophin (eCG) (eCG/hCG).
